If you have been following my blog for a while now then you know I have already shared 2 recipes for chocolate truffles. One dairy chocolate truffle recipe and one vegan chocolate truffle recipe. Now, this new recipe I’m sharing is another easy option for a chocolate bite snack.
The only difference here from the other recipes I shared is that this recipe doesn’t use chocolate but cocoa powder. This recipe is vegan and therefore parve (nondairy), meaning it can fit as a delicious dessert for Shabbat.
This recipe only calls for 3 ingredients as well and like I mentioned, is very easy to make. You don’t even need to use the oven since this is a no bake dessert! Ask your kids if they want to help out - make it a family affair.
To coat the truffles, I used more cocoa powder, however you can use any topping you prefer like coconut, crushed nuts, matcha powder, etc.
For this recipe, I used coconut oil to replace the butter or cream that is usually in a dairy chocolate truffle recipe. The coconut oil replaces the butter since it turns solid when cooling, just like butter. To make mixing easy, you need coconut oil in a liquid form to form the perfect batter. It’s as easy as melting the ingredient in a bowl in the microwave or over a pot with boiling water.
The sweetness in the recipe is only from the maple syrup, no sugar is added!
Recipe yields approximately 20 truffles depending on the size you make them.
Here is the recipe for this yummy vegan chocolate truffles:
