A few weeks ago, my blog entered and won the Facebook challenge and I walked away with two OSMOS bowls from
ZAK Design Europe! It was so fun seeing my name on the winning post :) . Plus I earned two beautiful bowls with a light marble design of my choosing.
OSMOS have three designs in this set of products- light marble, dark marble and wood marble. Now the bowls I got are big and small. The big one is actually large enough for many tasty recipes, including this Cabbage Salad! I also want to mention that the materiel that the bowls are made of is firm melamine which means that it is easy to wash them after eating. And I really can’t express just how much I like the marble design, as it definitely offers a chic and elegant style to the table. For those of you who like fancy, pretty dishes then I truly recommend you check out the OSMOS set.
This particular Cabbage Salad recipe has a trick - you need to soak the cabbage with salt for almost an hour. I had previously read about the recipe in this blog but suddenly I realized why my cabbage salad was too firm every time I made it. What you want is for the cabbage to be tender so that you can actually enjoy it and not feel like you’re eating wood! Other recipes that I had read were doing it the opposite way – meaning they would make the whole salad and then let it sit with the dressing to make it tenderer. Either way is good but I prefer this version. Plus, my recipe is completely vegan and does not contain any mayonnaise like most cabbage salads do, such as the coleslaw salad. Additionally, the dressing in my recipe is more Asian flavored and you can also add peanuts to it, although I am not a big fan of peanuts but it can suit this salad nonetheless.
